Because there is a population of 11060148. Pune is at number two, Mumbai suburban at number three, Nashik at number four and Nagpur at number five.

    If seen from the perspective of the district with the largest land area, the first district of Maharashtra is Ahmednagar, the second is Pune and the third is Nashik.
